A Desk with a Different View Every Week

People often ask me, " Where do you write your books?" The truth is - anywhere! My "office" has been a shaded table in Namibia, the back of our campervan overlooking the Zambezi, and even a cosy café in a small South African town.

Writing The Incredible Adventures of Casper the Cat Who Got Lost in Africa from the road means I'm surrounded by the very landscapes and wildlife that fill the pages. One day I might be jotting down notes after watching elephants at a watering hole; the next, a family of curious baboons might wander by as I edit a chapter.

In this weekly blog, I'll share snippets of my writing life - the moments of inspiration, the challenges of writing on the move, and how travel shapes the way I tell stories. I'll also sprinkle in a few travel tales, because sometimes the journey is just as colourful as the books themselves.
